Job Description

To start with, the position of Global Category Development Manager sits comfortably in the Global Sales Strategy & Category Development team. As a Category Development Manager you will play a crucial role in establishing win-win category partnerships with strategic retailers by closely collaborating with global marketing teams AND global and local sales / shopper teams. We play out our quadruple win in all that we do: win with shoppers, win with retail, win for JDE and win in sustainability,

For this, we don’t just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that you’ll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain. With this said, we like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:

  • You will represent the customer and shopper interest throughout the entire commercial process; from strategy, to concept to instore execution,
  • You will define the in-store strategy and foundations for total single serve. Keeping our brand philosophy top of mind, in close collaboration with our Global marketing teams,
  • You will identify the key business drivers from perfect shopper understanding while closely working with your RGM colleagues. Translating insights into action by defining execution standards and developing playbooks to give guidance to the countries,
  • You will build external selling stories and customer engagement packages: overall category trade story, category growth model, recommended shopper activation,
  • You will create central shopper marketing assets for trans creation in countries and ensure consistency in in-store execution and visuals,
  • You will define the Go-to-Market strategy for A/B innovations, what does success look like and translate into sales fundamental KPIs: distribution, shelving, pricing, promotion, and display. Work actively with countries to track progress and overcome potential barriers
  • You will be responsible for the Hypermarket / Supermarket Channel strategy.

The role reports to the Global Sales Strategy & Category Development Director. The role is based in Amsterdam, and will require occasional travelling to selected markets to work together with the local teams.

Given the nature of the role we feel it's important for you to have a certain level of seniority as well as a solid understanding of your own added value.
