Job Description

JDE and Campos are looking for a Health, Safety & Environment Specialist, or HSE Advisor, to provide professional and structured safety and environment advice and direction to the team and sites in Australia. You would be responsible for our production facility in Banksmeadow, where Campos is produced, and our production facility in Kingsgrove, where Piazza D’Oro, Harris and some of our other brands are produced. You will be able to make a massive impact and ensure HSE is taken to a higher level across our facilities. You’ll also be responsible for HSE for our offices across Australia as well as for our field sales and technical teams. You’ll report to the ANZ Operations Director. You’ll spend approx. 3 days a week in Banksmeadow, 1 day in Kingsgrove and 1 day in our North Sydney office.

Are you up for this challenge? 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and deliver an appropriate HSE strategy that will support the development of an annual HSE plan
  • Ensure that the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) is kept up to date
  • Support, coach and mentor Safety Representatives, line managers, HR team members and key stakeholder on safety topics
  • Present our HSE status updates and actions to the MT on a regular basis
  • Support in attaining and maintaining relevant Health & Safety and environmental (ISO14001 & ISO45001) certifications

For this role as a HSE Specialist, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

  • A qualification in Health, Safety & Environment and significant work experience as the HSE expert of a company
  • Proficient in the Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) and the ability to communicate with both the shop floor and the management team
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and coach business partners in this skill
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of integrity and confidentiality and adapt to a changing environment
  • Pragmatic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset
  • You’re open to participating in global HSE calls during evening hours (approx. 1x per fortnight)
